IIUM Dar al Hikmah Library Community Engagement Project: Facilitating Access to School Resource Centre
Community Engagement Project is one of the services offered by Dar al-Hikmah Library to serve the outside communities of IIUM. We are sharing our skills and expertise in managing the outside communities’ libraries so that their libraries are operated efficiently and effectively.
In January 2019, Dar al-Hikmah Library received a request from SMK Taman Melawati to develop a library management system to replace the manual system for their library management and operation. KOHA Library Management System has been selected to automate their Library’s collection and services.
As a result of developing KOHA Integrated Library System (ILS), a great change has been taken place in the SMKTM school resource centre management system which leads to transformation in the area of information processing, storage, and retrieval. Thus the SRC is able to offer better services to the school’s community.
