With active involvement in the gardening activities, it was also hoped that there would be healthier IIUM Kuantan Community who are more engaged in social entrepreneurship activities through the “lnfaq Garden’.

Since the project was started in August 2019, about 30 plants of various types have been planted around the IIUM Campus. The types and number of plants in the garden shall continuously be added to produce more produces that can benefits the IIUM Kuantan community.

GREENS PLANTED AT THE INFAQ GARDEN:

  • Bird eye chili
  • “Ulam Raja”
  • Tumeric Leaf
  • “Selasih” Leaf
  • Papaya
  • “Pisang Tanduk”
  • “Ulam Sambung Nyawa”
  • “Pandan”
  • “Pokok Buah Belanda”

The chillies are expected to be harvested in January 2021.  It was estimated that the first harvest of the 164 poly bags will first produce 1 kg of chillies per bag and will keep producing all year round for two to three years.
